The Proposal
- Up to 300 new houses on the fields between Devizes Road, the Village Hall and Whaddon Lane.
- Access to most of the houses will be through a new access road at the side of 177 Devizes road.
- Access to 30-60 of the houses will be from Whaddon Lane.
The Problem
More green space gone forever.
- Major disruptions to local wildlife deer, reptiles and bats including the protected Beckstein bat.
- 300 Houses means at least 300 more cars (National average is 1.2 per household), if each house uses their car once daily thats 600 more cars using Devizes Road.
- Similarly, Whaddon lane is very narrow and access limited even the smaller number of cars using this access point will be dangerous to pedestrians.
